Marillier began playing the double bass at the age of 7
in a class taught by his father in Nice. At 14 he went on
to attend the C.N.S.M. in Paris (National conservatory of
Music) where he was taught by Jean-Marc ROLLEZ. During
that time he won various prizes including the Special
Jury Prize at the International Competition held in the
Isle of Man at the age of 16. He then went on to become the principal double bass in the orchestras of Nice and then Strasbourg and in 1984 became the first principal double bass of the Opera de Paris-Bastille Orchestra at the age of 22. He has also dedicated his time to teaching and is currently a teacher at the C.N.R (National Conservatory) in Boulogne Billancourt. During the summer he teaches at various International Academies (Nice, Flaine, Abbaye de Floreffe in Belgium...) He also gives soloist and qunintet recitals around the world: USA, Taiwan, Japan... |

Marillier débute la Contrebasse à l'âge de 7 ans dans
la classe de son père à Nice. Il entre au C.N.S.M. de
Paris à l'âge de 14 ans pour suivre l'enseignement de
Jean-Marc ROLLEZ et il remporte différents prix dont le
Prix Spécial du Jury au Concours International de l'Ile
de Man (à l'âge de 16 ans). Il entre ensuite comme Contrebasse Solo dans les Orchestres de Nice, puis de Strasbourg et en 1984 comme Super-Soliste de l'Orchestre de l'Opéra de Paris-Bastille (à l'âge de 22 ans). Se consacrant également à l'enseignement, il est actuellement Professeur au C.N.R. de Boulogne Billancourt et enseigne chaque été dans diverses Académies Internationales (Nice, Flaine, Abbaye de Floreffe en Belgique...) Il donne en soliste et en quintet des récitals autour du monde : France, USA, Taïwan, Japon... |
